Original size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Commissioned as a Spring greeting card. All of the text was originally done in black and white, with each quotation done on separate sheets. The text was scanned and imported as layers into Photoshop, where I added the colors and pasted up the final layout. The origin of the "Spring is sprung, the grass is riz" quote seems uncertain. Some sources attribute it to Bugs Bunny, but others indicate it has been around longer than the Bugs cartoon; in the Northeastern US, where I live, people often like to say it as "boidies" instead of "birdies." |
