| This idea was in my sketchbook for about five years, just waiting for me to get around to executing it as a finished piece. Uncial is one of my earliest calligraphic loves. This particular version of uncial is my own modernization of a historic hand known as "Artificial Uncial," which was popular in Italy in the 7th and 8th centuries. It's "artificial" because of the extra pen-twisting and ornamentations that are thrown in. | ||||||||||||||
