This was our family Christmas card for 2005. I always start a design from the text, not the graphics - the role of the calligraphy is to be servant to the text. In this case, the text is from a hymn, In the Waiting, composed by a friend, Kathy Mulholland. We've been using the hymn during Advent for about three years in our church, and I was particularly struck by this particular verse as a contemporary statement of faith.
